Johanna "Jennie" S. Klabon, of Stevens Point, died Thursday evening July 28, 2011 at her home while under the care of her family and Ministry Home Care Hospice. Age 94 Jennie was born May 23, 1917 in the Town of Dewey. She was the daughter of the late John and Prakseda (Wierzba) Lemke. Her marriage to Ossie Klabon took place on July 11, 1942 in Louisiana. After their marriage the couple settled in Withee, WI, moving to Stevens Point in the 1950's. Her husband Ossie died September 27, 1992. As a young woman, Jennie worked in a factory in Chicago making airplane components, of which she was very proud of.
She was the primary care giver to her husband Ossie for many many years due to his paralysis from World War II. She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed family gatherings. Some of her most precious moments were spent traveling with her husband throughout the US. Jennie was most proud of her independence, living on her own and taking care of her house. She did cherish her time spent with family by going our to eat, and being active in the community. She celebrated her 94th birthday party this past April. Jennie was a member of the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society, and did volunteer work for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She is survived by her four siblings, Agnes Maurer of Florida, Henry Lemke of Plover, Ann Lemke of Milwaukee and Regina "Reggie" Lemke of Chicago. Many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by and infant daughter Carol, two Sisters Helen Gollonik and Theresa Lemke and three Brothers Peter, Roman and Frank Lemke.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice, especially Deb and Stormy for their kindness and gentle care given to our wonderful sister and aunt.
