Rob Duns

Weekend Meteorologist

Rob Duns joined the Newsline 9 team in April 2011 as a weekend meteorologist and reporter. When Rob isn't in the studio you'll likely catch him in the field working on the next edition of Wandering Wisconsin. From underground caves to zip-lining over the Wisconsin Dells, solar powered breweries to historical sites, Wandering Wisconsin takes you inside a unique feature of our state every Wednesday on Newsline 9 at 10.

With national appearances on The Weather Channel and OSTN Network, Rob got his start in television while still in college. He also interned with the meteorologists at WKBN-TV in Youngstown and WOIO-TV in Cleveland before making the move to Wisconsin.

Rob earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the Tim Russert Department of Communications and Theatre Arts at John Carroll University in Cleveland. He also has a Broadcast Meteorology certification from Mississippi State University.  Rob served as News Director of WJCU 88.7FM as an undergraduate and became Station Manager during graduate school. From 2005 to 2010 he was 88.7FM's weekday weather forecaster.

While in college Rob produced three documentaries winning national student film recognitions and film festival awards in the United States and Canada. His latest film investigated the conflicts erupting over wind energy farming in the states and provinces surrounding the Great Lakes.

Locally Rob volunteers with the Adopt-A-Park program in Marathon County.
