RIB MOUNTAIN (WAOW) -- Pancake lovers don't need to worry. Your local IHOP may be closed for now, but restaurant owners said they plan to reopen in three weeks as a new restaurant.
Restaurant leaders confirm they will be splitting from the IHOP family, but haven't decided on a new name yet. Their plans include using newer and fresher ingredients they can buy from local vendors. They're still sticking to a breakfast-style menu, with a few updates and new items.
"I've had employees here who have worked for me for three years, they've stuck through thick and thin with us so they're going to be still here," said general manager Elsa Tagura.
"We just received coupons in the mail and we were going to come in and have lunch and I didn't realize that it was closed," said Jamie Heckendorf, who works in Kronenwetter.
Some hungry people stopped in to see if they could grab a bite at the Rib Mountain location. These changes will also affect the Plover location, which is owned by the same family.
A representative from IHOP said they have plans to open a new location in north-central Wisconsin in the near future.
