MADISON (AP) -- Democrat Jessica King has defeated Republican Sen. Randy Hopper in one of six recall elections targeting GOP incumbents.
She is the second Democrat to win Tuesday, while three Republicans held on to their seats.
Control of the Senate rests with a race too close to call targeting Sen. Alberta Darling of River Hills.
Unofficial results show King with 51 percent of the vote compared with 49 percent for Hopper.
King's win is a big one for Democrats as they attempt to recapture control of the Senate from Republicans through Tuesday's six recall elections. Two Democratic incumbents face recall next week.
Democrats would have to defeat Darling and win both of those to take majority control.
