GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The Wisconsin Division of Emergency Management says an apparent tornado has hit Marinette County in northeastern Wisconsin causing at least one death.
Division spokeswoman Lori Getter says local officials have determined one adult male died in the storm. His name has not been released nor have the circumstances of his death. It's not clear how many other people were injured.
Getter says about 2,000 people are without power in Marinette and neighboring Menomonie counties. She says Wisconsin Public Service is working to restore electricity.
She says many trees and power lines are down after the apparent tornado hit about 5 p.m.
The National Weather Service is reporting that the storm also packed nearly 2-inch hail. A damage survey team is scheduled to go out on Saturday.
