Reported tornado touchdown in Clark County; home leveled in Spencer

Posted:

SPENCER (WAOW)--The Clark County Sheriff's Department is asking that people stay away from damaged areas. There are still power lines down and debris along roadways west of Marshfield.

Dennis Hannan's brother-in-law Kevin and teenage nephew rode out the storm in their home off of Catlin Avenue. Hannan said they described the storm cracking and "getting loud." Once it had passed, they couldn't believe what they saw-- their home and garage flattened.

Just hours later, a calm sky sat in contrast to the splintered branches and uprooted trees scattered throughout the yard.

Hannan said he and his wife were happy to find a dress that his sister-in-law plans to wear for her daughter's wedding. They will continue to search for pictures, but Hannan said everything else can be replaced. He's happy no one was severely hurt.
