MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee Brewers prospect Taylor Green had wrist surgery so complicated two years ago he can't remember the details.
The important thing now is the third baseman is healthy again and will make his first major league appearance -- whenever he gets a chance off the bench for the Brewers.
Green was called up Saturday after hitting .336 with 22 homers and 88 RBIs in 120 games at Triple-A Nashville. The Brewers went ahead and made the move instead of waiting until Sept. 1, meaning Green would be eligible for postseason play.
Green says being called up any time is a "great honor."
Manager Ron Roenicke says Green will be used to shore up their bench and may get a spot start in place of Casey McGehee against a right-handed pitcher.
