Police arrest Appleton man for online threat

APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- Police arrested a 44-year-old Appleton man for allegedly posting in a New York radio station's Internet chat room that he was planning a shooting spree.

The Post-Crescent reported (http://bit.ly/qvOrlk ) the man visited a Hard Rock Radio Live's chat room at about 11 a.m. Tuesday.

He wrote that listeners should watch national news Wednesday because he planned a shooting spree in Appleton.

Trevor Fenton is the radio station's co-owner. He called Appleton police from Windsor, Ontario, where he's based after the man followed up by requesting Megadeth's "Killing is My Business . And Business is Good."

Detectives found the man by tracking his computer. Appleton police Sgt. Pat DeWall says he was arrested Wednesday on a computer at the Appleton Public Library, where he posted his online threat a day earlier.
