MADISON (AP) -- The board that oversees elections in Wisconsin is asking the attorney general to issue a legal opinion on whether a recall targeting the governor would also include the lieutenant governor.
Wisconsin Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy says in a memo to the board that the agency believes a recall initiative against the governor would not include the lieutenant governor.
Democrats say they intend to seek a recall of Gov. Scott Walker next year. They have not targeted Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch.
Kennedy says if Kleefisch is to be recalled, a separate petition must be circulated.
The GAB board was to discuss Kennedy's request for a legal opinion at its meeting Monday.
