MADISON (AP) -- Gov. Scott Walker has ordered that the U.S. and state flags be flown at half-staff on Sept. 11 to honor the victims of the terror attacks 10 years ago.
Walker says the lowered flags will also honor members of the military serving overseas.
In his order, Walker says it's important to honor the nearly 3,000 Americans who died at the hands of terrorists.
He also says 32,000 Wisconsin soldiers have been deployed overseas to fight the war on terror, and 117 Wisconsinites have died in combat since Sept. 11, 2001.
The 10th anniversary of the terror attacks is Sunday.
