FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- Fond du Lac authorities are planning to discuss the results of their investigation into a gunfight in March that left one police officer dead and a second injured.
Prosecutors and police have scheduled a news conference for Monday at 2 p.m. They say they'll provide information and answer questions about the March 20 shooting.
Authorities have said 30-year-old James Cruckson opened fire on police during a six-hour standoff. Cruckson was later found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Fond du Lac police Officer Craig Birkholz was shot in the upper chest and killed. He was 28. Officer Ryan Williams was shot twice in the chest, and his police dog was also shot. Both survived.
The officers had been called to the home to investigate a sexual assault.
