WAUSAU (WAOW) -- More changes could be coming for the Wausau area bus line. Metro Ride leaders said they may change the route that runs through Rothschild and Schofield.
They're also considering cutting early morning service for all routes, starting a half-hour later -- at 6:30 AM instead of six o'clock -- and perhaps eliminating Saturday's bus lines altogether.
This plan comes as Metro Ride leaders try to cut about $480,000 from their 2012 budget.
"It matters how much state and federal funding we get in order to determine how much the cost for them will be," said Metro Ride transit director Greg Seubert.
"Sometimes my car has problems and being able to take the bus just alleviates that," said Brian Sodke, who rides the bus to school.
Local leaders will take input from people in the community at two public meetings. Seubert said those will be during the second week of October. One will be during the day and the other will be at night to give more people the chance to be heard.
