Betty A. Fluegge, 80, Wausau, formerly of Elderon, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 2, 1930 in Milwaukee, the daughter of the late Walter and Irene (Voeks) Laing. On April 19, 1952, Betty was united in marriage to James A. Fluegge in Milwaukee. He preceded her in death on September 2, 1991.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to books on tape, and watching television. She especially loved her cat, 'Baby'. For a lady with the disabilities she had, Betty enjoyed life to it's fullest and never complained about the hand she was dealt.
Survivors include three children, Dan (Sue) Fluegge, Elderon, Kent (Beth) Fluegge, Ringle and Linda (Tom) Schilling, Medford; six granddaughters, Angela, Nichoe, Fawn, Lisa, Catherine and Robin; 10 great-grandchildren, Harli, Deseray, Nathan, Emmalita, Noah, Ian, Jenessa, Isaiah, Maggie and Eden; one brother, Eri (Barbara) Laing, PA; three nieces, Peggy, Sally, Jessica and two nephews, Matthew and David.
In addition to her husband and parents, Betty was preceded in death by two children, Cindy Lou and Tom; one grandson, Brent and her siblings, Warren and Doris.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, September 23, 2011 at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. The Rev. Gary Schultz, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau will officiate. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Rest Cemetery, Elderon.
