Driver who crashed into Sugar Shack cited for 2nd OWI
WESTON (WAOW) - A Marshfield man was cited for his 2nd OWI after crashing into the Sugar Shack on Ross Avenue in Weston Friday morning.
Everest Metro Police Captain Clay Schulz says the call came in at 1:10 a.m. He says the driver, Derek Seehafer, 24, left the roadway, hit an embankment, came down on the other side of street, took out a street sign, hit concrete picnic tables and then the Sugar Shack sign.
Schulz says Seehafer was sitting outside the vehicle when officers arrived and admitted to driving. The officer said he could smell alcohol. Seehafer failed a field sobriety test and was taken to St. Clare's Hospital for a legal blood draw.
