MARATHON COUNTY (WAOW)--Authorities with the Marathon County Crimestoppers say someone stole a truck in the town of Brighton, damaged the truck and then returned it.
It happened sometime between 7:30 p.m. August 23, 2011 and 9:30 a.m. August 24, 2011.
Deputies believe someone broke into a pole shed at B240 Eau Pleine Road and helped themselves to a 2000 Kenworth forage. The person also took a heavy duty tow strap. The Kenworth truck was then driven down Eau Pleine Road where it appears it was used to remove another vehicle that was stuck in the ditch, damaging the brand new floatation tires on the truck.
The person then returned the damaged Kenworth and the tow strap to the shed. Damage is estimated at $1,100.
