MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- One of the closed state parks and a state trail popular for catching fall colors are set to reopen in Door County following last week's fierce winds.
The Department of Natural Resources says Rock Island State Park and the Ahnapee State Trail are scheduled to reopen in Door County at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Crews from around the state continue to work to clear downed trees from Peninsula, Potawatomi, Newport and Whitefish Dunes state parks, which remain closed.
Power has been restored to all parks, and restrooms, sewers and buildings are being repaired.
State park officials will reassess the remaining closed parks on Wednesday morning.
