CHICAGO (AP) -- A Cook County judge has set bail at $1 million for a Chicago man charged with the stabbing death of a Wisconsin woman whose body was found in a downtown Chicago luxury hotel.
Cook County Criminal Court Judge Maria Kuriakos Ciesil on Friday ordered 23-year-old Christopher Love held on $1 million bond. Love is charged with first-degree murder and soliciting a prostitute in the death of 31-year-old Sarai Michaels of LaCrosse, Wis.
Michaels was found dead early Tuesday in the Hotel Felix. She suffered several wounds to her chest and the back of her neck. Authorities say a bloody knife was found next to her body.
Her estranged husband, Stephen Michaels, said earlier this week she had five children. He said the children were in foster care in Wisconsin.
