FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (AP) -- A 911 call resulted in the rescue of four duck hunters on a windy morning on Lake Winnebago.
Sgt. Renee Schuster of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department says authorities received a distress call about 9:40 a.m. Saturday that four men in two boats were stranded off the west shore of Lake Winnebago.
The Fond du Lac Reporter (http://bit.ly/qfrJeg ) says two men in a 12-foot boat were trying to tow in the other boat when the rope got stuck in the motor and burned it out. The boats began taking on water.
Schuster says waves broke over the bow of the 32-foot rescue boat that picked up the four men -- three from Oshkosh and one from Omro, ages 19 to 23. They wore life jackets. No one was injured.
