Jeannette M. Werbinski, 90, of 3450 Bridlewood Drive Plover, died Friday October 14, 2011 at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital. Jeannette was born on January 9, 1921 in Stevens Point, to the late Joseph & Mary (Suchowski) Jerzak.
Jeannette graduated from St. Joseph's Academy High School and from Stevens Point Teachers College. She graduated in 1940 and became a teacher in a one- room school house on the Wisconsin River. Jeannette then moved to Milwaukee and took a job as a time keeper at Globe Union. Jeannette use to travel to Chicago in 1942 and 1943 with her girlfriends to see plays.
Her marriage to Stanley Werbinski took place on June 3, 1944 at St. Peter Catholic Church, after the marriage the couple settled in Milwaukee. In 1978 the couple returned to Stevens Point. After her daughters were grown, Jeannette worked part time for TA Chapman's department store in Bay Shore Mall, and then in Stevens Point as a Johnsonville demonstration person in various grocery stores around town. Also volunteered in the office at St. Peter's Church and was a member of the board of St. Vincent DePaul. Her husband Stanley died on April 9, 2003.
She was a member of the St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose #50.She enjoyed playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include her daughters, Alice (Dean) Zastava of Parker Colorado, Anita T. Frenczak-Gross of San Ramon California and Carol (James) Lemke of Livermore California. Seven Grandchildren, Ann (Edgardo) Zastava-Cintron, David (Amelia) Zastava, Nathaniel Frenczak, Sarah (Kerry) Frenczak-Lee, Angela Lemke, Adam Lemke,
& Michael Lemke. Four Great-Grandchildren, Jack Cintron, Alexander Cintron, Cole Zastava, Christian Zastava.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Thursday October 20, 2011 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev Arul Joseph V. will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home Stevens Point and again on Thursday from 9:30am until time of service in the St. Faustina room at the church. St. Peter Rosary Society will combine with the parish rosary at 7:00pm Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name to St. Peter's Catholic Church would be appreciated.
