Hubert L. Wroblewski, of Stevens Point, died Thursday evening October 20, 2011 at St. Josephs Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by his loving family. Age 79 Hubert was born September 26, 1932 in the Town of Stockton, WI. He was the son of the late Frank and Johanna (Yenter) Wroblewski. He attended local schools. Hubert entered the United States Navy on December 19, 1955 in Milwaukee, WI. He served as a DC3 on the U.S.S. Lexington, and was honorably discharged on September 15, 1957 in San Francisco, CA. His marriage to Lorraine Trzebiatowski took place on May 17, 1958 at St. Mary's of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Fancher. Hubert worked for Sentry Insurance for many years and also owned and operated H.L.W. Electric until his retirement in 2002 when his two sons took over the business. He enjoyed all Wisconsin sports, Brewers, Packers, Badgers, enjoyed traveling, going on Casino tours and spending time with his family. He was a very faithful member of St. Stanislaus Church as he served on the Finance Committee for many years, did the electrical work for the parish and also worked Bingo. He also helped Operation Bootstrap with their food baskets. Hubert was a member of the Stevens Point Knights of Columbus Msgr. McGinley Council # 1170. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include his wife Lorraine, two daughters Bonita (Tom) Brost of Superior and Jean (Dan) Rice of Amherst Jct. Two sons James Wroblewski and Dennis (Kari) Wroblewski both of Stevens Point. Five grandchildren, Jeffrey (Nicole) Rice, Aubrey (Boone) Putney, Matthew Rice, and Jack and Eleanor "Nora" Wroblewski. Three brothers Myron (Betty) Wroblewski of Plover, Anton "Tony" (Anita) Wroblewski of Milwaukee and Henry (Arlene) Wroblewski of Amherst. Two sisters Leona Ziolkowski of Stevens Point, and Ramona (Maynard) Patoka of Plover. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Wroblewski and Irene Glodowski.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Monday October 24, 2011 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Rev. George Thayikuzhithottu officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday evening at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, and from 9:30 AM Monday at St. Stanislaus Church until the time for service.
