Infant pulled from earthquake rubble in Turkey

ABC NEWS (WAOW) -- Rescuers evacuated a 2-week-old baby girl alive from the rubble of an apartment building that collapsed after a powerful earthquake hit eastern Turkey.

Television footage showed rescuers clapping as the baby, Azra Karaduman, was removed from the wreckage in Ercis, 47 hours after the 7.2-magnitude quake.

Rescuers in Ercis and another city, Van, in eastern Turkey are struggling to pull out survivors from the quake.  Officials say the death toll is now 366.

The prime minister's office on Tuesday said more than 2,000 buildings collapsed in Sunday's quake.

Thousands of people spent a second night outdoors in cars or tents in near- freezing conditions, afraid to return to their homes after the quake that has been followed by hundreds of aftershocks.
