Mosinee Weather Shield employees vote down contract proposal

MOSINEE (WAOW) --  Union workers for Weather Shield in Mosinee have rejected a new contract proposal.  But, that doesn't mean the plant is shutting down.

The vote was Wednesday afternoon and Dale's Weston Lanes.  Union workers tell Newsline 9 the proposed contract would take away employee holiday pay, and stop their 401K match.

The local union president, Larry Pelot said they need to find ways to work together.

"We are still under contract until 2012. Now it is up to the company to decide what do to," Pelot explains.

Newsline 9 tried to contact Weather Shield in Mosinee, but they did not return our calls.

The company makes patio doors and windows.
