SPASH cross country is going to state.
The Panthers will make their sixth straight appearance on Saturday.
Coach Donn Behnke is bearish about his young team.
But SPASH has exceeded expectations this year, winning the Valley Conference and taking the Sectional title.
On Saturday, they're looking to open some eyes.
"What we've done this year has been surprising," said Panthers coach Donn Behnke. "And they may surprise us, they might do better than what I expect, and that's what every coach hopes for.
"Probably three or four outstanding teams that we might not be able to compete with, but I think if we run well, we could be in the top five, that would be our goal for this year."
"That'd be awesome," said SPASH junior Michael Larson. "We've surprised a lot of people this year and through our hard work, we've made our coaches happy and hopefully it all pays off."
