Crandon man gets 10 years for killing father

CRANDON, Wis. (AP) -- A Crandon man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in the shooting death of his father.

Twenty-year-old Dillon Wagnitz was also ordered to serve 15 years of extended supervision when he was sentenced in Forest County Circuit Court Friday.

He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first-degree reckless homicide under a plea agreement in June.

The Wausau Daily Herald reports that police say Wagnitz shot his father, Kevin Wagnitz, threatened to shoot others and then used the gun on himself on Jan. 24 at a Mole Lake apartment.
