UWSP Men's Hockey Falls at St. Norbert


GREEN BAY, Wis. – A night after upsetting the nation's top-ranked and defending national champion, the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team suffered a 4-1 loss at the hands of the Green Knights of St. Norbert College at the Cornerstone Center. 

The host Green Knights struck first, as Johan Ryd scored at the 13:59 mark of the game's opening period. 

St. Norbert tacked on two more goals in the latter part of the second period to push their lead to 3-0 before UW-Stevens Point's Brandon Busse (Stevens Point, WI) scored his first goal of the season off a Brandon Busse (Stevens Point, WI) pass. 

In the third, the host Green Knights tacked on another goal to extend the lead to 4-1. 

Goaltender Travis Bosch recorded 16 saves on the evening to earn the victory while Nick Graves (Hewitt, WI) stopped 24 of the Green Knights 28 shots on target, suffering the loss. 

UW-Stevens Point (1-2, 1-1- NCHA) returns to action with a pair of nonconference games on Nov. 4 & 5 at the friendly confines of K.B. Willett Arena as Augsburg and Gustavus Adolphus come to town.  Game time for both Friday and Saturday evening is scheduled for 7 p.m.
