EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming and Diving team competed in a tri-dual meet against St. Cloud State and UW- Eau Claire. The men defeated UW- Eau Claire with a score of 189-99 but lost to St. Cloud State 186-112. The women lost to UW- Eau Claire 145-143 and also to St. Cloud State 228-72.
The Pointers got their first individual win at the meet with a victory in the 200 freestyle by senior Sam Davy with a time of 1:48.15. Junior Zack Desy finished second in the 200 butterfly in a time of 2:03.39 and then added a third place finish in the 400 IM with a 4:28.50. Junior Casey Murnane finished second with a time 4:26.18 joined Desy in the 400 IM.
Junior Andrea Wagner posted a second place finish in the 50 freestyle in a 25.26 and was accompanied by teammate Ashley Majewski, who placed 4th with a time of 25.41. Wagner also placed second in the 100 freestyle with a 55.14.
Senior Ryan Farmer won the 100 butterfly in a 52.66 and was also apart of the winning 200 freestyle relay of Joey Clapp, Eric Emerson and Sam Davy. They posted a time of 1:26.14 to out touch St. Cloud State (1:26.55). The Women's 200 freestyle relay consisting of Ashley Majewski, Kelly Kading, Amy Boritzke and Andrea Wagner finished second in a time of 1:42.10.
The Pointers resume action in the pool on November 11-12 at the UWSP aquatic center. The UWSP swimming and diving team will be hosting it's annual Border Battle swim meet.
