Bullying and our schools

A 12-year-old boy sits quietly, staring down at the floor. He and his mother say he's a victim of bullying at school. Other kids hit him, kick him, and call him names, they say. It's taking a toll on his schoolwork—and his happiness.

Experts say bullying has gone on for a long time, but more people are noticing it. And recent teen suicides have helped thrust this issue into the national spotlight.
