MADISON, Wis. (AP) --Wisconsin elections officials have received paperwork in the first effort to recall Republican Governor Scott Walker. The state Government Accountability Board says the request was filed today on the first possible date of the recall. Organizers must gather 540,000 signatures in 60 days for a recall vote.

TOWN OF LOYAL, Wis. (AP) -- A mother with a 6-day-old baby is one of two people killed in a fatal crash in Clark County. Sheriff's officials said today that 22-year-old Brita Oldham of Willard and 59-year-old Charles Bizjak of Greenwood died in yesterday's wreck in the Town of Loyal.

ASHLAND, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say a suspect has been arrested in South Dakota in connection with a fatal shooting in far northwestern Wisconsin. Police say a man was found shot to death at the Anderson's Chequamegon (sheh-KWAM'-eh-gon) Motel in Ashland Wednesday night. Ashland is a port on Lake Superior with a population of about 9,000. Officials say neither the victim nor the suspect are from the area.

TOWN OF CLIFTON, Wis. (AP) -- Garrison Keillor is selling his Wisconsin retreat along the St. Croix (kroy) River in Pierce County for nearly $1 million. The 11-acre property in The Town of Clifton is less than an hour from Keillor's main home in St. Paul, Minnesota.
