FOND DU LAC, Wis. (AP) -- A former state senator has mailed in not guilty pleas to a charge of drunken driving and crossing a highway's center line.
Randy Hopper was arrested Oct. 16 in Fond du Lac County after a concerned motorist called 911 to report a driver weaving back and forth on Highway 151. Hopper was scheduled to appear in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court Monday afternoon. But, the Fond du Lac Reporter (http://fondul.ac/vkfAHQ) says his written pleas by mail negated the need for a court appearance.
