SHAWANO COUNTY (WAOW) - UPDATE - The Shawano County Sheriff's Department identified the three people who died in a two vehicle crash Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Department says three passengers in a 2000 Chevrolet van were killed. They are Beverly Denny, 52, of Green Bay; Sebastian Scharenbroch, 19, of Oconto and Jacob Johns, 17, of Green Bay.
Connie Dean, 37, of Green Bay was driving the van. Latisha Denny, 22, of Oneida and Edward Cloud, 18, of Green Bay were passengers. All three were injured.
The driver of the Toyota truck was Calvin Steward of Appleton. He was reportedly injured.
The crash is under investigation.
The Shawano County Sheriff's Department reports 3 people died in a crash in the Town of Lessor.
The initial investigation indicates a 2000 Chevrolet van with 6 occupants was westbound on State Highway 156 near Silver Lane and went into a skid. The van and an eastbound 1996 Toyota Truck collided. The van was on fire when deputies arrived.
The driver of the Toyota is a 56 year old Appleton man. He was taken to an area hospital with what was described as non life-threatening injuries.
The names of the injured and dead are being withheld pending notification of family members.
STH 156 was closed to traffic until 11:15am.
Authorities have closed down a portion of Wisconsin Highway 156 in Shawano County because of a crash.
It happened around 8:20 Wednesday morning on Wis 156/Lawn Road near Bonduel.
Authorities advise using alternate routes if you need to use the highway. Eastbound traffic can go south on CTH X to Shady Road, then east on Shady Road to Lawn Road. North on Lawn Road back to WIS 156. Westbound traffic reverses those directions.
According to a press release, there are serious injuries.
Authorities expect clean up to take at least two hours.
