Top presidential candidates answer critics at GOP debate

MICHIGAN (WAOW) -- The three top candidates for the Republican presidential bid each had their share of questions to be answered at Wednesday night's GOP debate in Michigan.

Herman Cain is continuing to defend himself against accusations that he sexually harassed women when he led the National Restaurant Association more than a decade ago.

Last night, Cain said that the American people "deserve better than someone being tried in the court of public opinion based on unfounded accusations."

Meanwhile, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney fought off notions that he is a flip-flopper, and said that his 42 years of marriage was proof of that.

Texas Governor Rick Perry also faced some problems.

Perry said he would eliminate three federal agencies if he was the president, but when pressed to ask which ones, he could only name two.
