Teenage love story is criminal

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- A 19-year-old man is in jail because he wouldn't follow a judge's order to stay away from his underage girlfriend.

The same thing happened to his grandfather more than 40 years ago.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports (http://bit.ly/uPS76S ) Christian Laes, of Sturgeon Bay, was a senior and his girlfriend was a freshman when they started dating in 2009.

Laes pleaded no contest in December to third- and fourth-degree sexual assault, both misdemeanors.

He got probation and was ordered not to have contact with the 17-year-old girl, but he did and he was jailed starting Sept. 13.

Laes' grandfather Dean Teska was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor after his romance with Pamela Pride, who was two years younger. They later married and stayed together until he died.
