Wisconsin Rapids is headed to the state title game. And Monday, one of its top players was given recognition.
Linebacker Vince Biegel was chosen as the state's defensive player of the year.
Biegel has 17 sacks and nearly 100 solo tackles this season, leading a stingy Red Raiders defense.
Biegel is headed to Wisconsin next year to play for the Badgers.
Also joining Biegel on the All-State team are:
Marcus Senn and brother Hayden Biegel of Wisconsin Rapids.
Viktor Stelter and Kyle Schueller of Edgar.
Taylor Kalepp and Alex Jorgenson of Colby.
Kaleb Reichert of Nekoosa, Ryan Ramczyk of SPASH, Clint Nievinski of Mosinee, Trevor Peterson of Marshfield, and DC Everest's Brent Esser.
