RHINELANDER (WAOW) -- One shelter that has gotten off the ground this year is Frederick Place in Rhinelander. Dozens of people have already found shelter there since its opening in January.
From individuals to families, executive director Tammy Modic said she's seen all kinds of people come in looking for help. And the community has made all the difference in their efforts.
"We need them behind us 100 percent," said Modic. "There is no way to run it without them at this point, not just from a financial standpoint but for the support of the residents."
Frederick Place serves five counties in the Northwoods. On average, people who go there for help stay about forty days, working with case workers and creating a plan of action before moving on.
