Woman guilty of abandoning girl she abused before

HUDSON, Wis. (AP) -- A western Wisconsin woman who was convicted of abusing her 1-year-old daughter back in 1998 has been convicted again -- for depriving that same girl of food and clothing.

Thirty-six-year-old Elise L. Will pleaded no contest and was found guilty Friday of a felony count of being party to abandonment of the girl, now 14.

The Eau Claire Leader-Telegram (http://bit.ly/utpGJR ) reports that prosecutors will recommend that Will serve 90 days in jail as part of three years' probation.

Will's husband, 38-year-old Jeremee C. Will, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor and received one year of probation.

The girl testified that at times she was locked out of the house and was not given food.

Authorities discovered the situation after the July death of Will's infant daughter. That case is being investigated.
