KANEOHE, Hawaii (AP) -- Honolulu police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a 19-year-old university student from Wisconsin.
Hawaii Pacific University says Mariah Danforth-Moore was crossing Kamehameha Highway in a marked crosswalk near the Windward Oahu campus Sunday night when she was struck by a car that fled the scene.
The psychology major was pronounced dead at Castle Medical Center.
The university says Danforth-Moore was from Oneida, Wis.
University President Geoffrey Bannister says psychologists and counselors are available to help students, faculty and staff deal with the tragedy.
Police are searching for the driver.
