Wis. driver's alcohol level 4.5 times legal limit

DELAFIELD, Wis. (AP) -- A Pewaukee woman who died after causing a head-on collision this month had a blood-alcohol level nearly 4.5 times the legal limit.

The Waukesha County medical examiner's office says 44-year-old Dawn M. Ewing had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.356 percent. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.

Ewing was going the wrong way on a freeway Nov. 5 when she slammed into a vehicle driven by 41-year-old Brian St. Germaine of Watertown. Both drivers died at the scene.

Ewing drove against traffic for eight miles on Interstate 94. A Watertown Daily Times report says at least four squad cars tried in vain to stop her before the fatal crash.

St. Germaine was the father of three. The medical examiner's report says he had marijuana in his system.
