WESTON (WAOW) -- Black Friday shoppers have been staking out their spots all day, waiting to snag deals when stores finally open.
Dozens of people lined the front of the Target store in Weston. Some even showed up as early as 2:30 AM. Black Friday specials have traditionally started on Friday. But some places started even earlier this year. Eager shoppers said they rearranged their schedules to make sure they could save their spot.
"It was fine for my friends and I," said Samantha Reynolds, who lives in Wausau. "We took turns going to our Thanksgiving dinners so we weren't here all day solid. We left for an hour or so at a time and then traded off."
People played cards and games while they waited. They said they're glad it wasn't too cold on Thursday night. Some said waiting for the big deals is as much of a holiday tradition as eating turkey and stuffing.
