EAU CLAIRE: Black Friday camping kind of a tradition

EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) -  Shoppers in the Chippewa Valley lined up early for Black Friday.

Early Wednesday WQOW checked in with some early campers and came back Thanksgiving afternoon to see if the line grew -- and it did.

About 20 people formed in the line, 11 hours before Best Buy would open their doors for Black Friday. Some pass the time planning their wedding while others watched the Packers game. Nobody plans to leave until they can get their hands on some deals for electronics.

George Andrews has been camping out at Best Buy for five years now. He says "This is early this year, a day early pretty much. There were people here yesterday at 9 in the morning. I think the 12 o'clock time has brought people in a lot earlier. Because they are opening up at midnight, if it was 3 o'clock they wouldn't be, I think people would have showed up today instead of yesterday."

Andrews even began his own Website, "Occupy Best Buy" in honor of this yearly ritual.
