MADISON (WKOW) -- Who needs to wait for Black Friday?
The deals started Thanksgiving morning across the country for many stores. It seems the deals aren't waiting until Black Friday this year, many stores opened Thursday evening.
People were waiting in line around the store at Toys 'R Us in Madison. The store opened at 9 PM.
Most were waiting for an electronic tablet that's selling for 180-dollars Thursday.
Toys R US, Walmart, and KMart are among those with shopping hours on Thanksgiving day.
People started lining up outside stores in the Madison area, like Best Buy, as early as Wednesday.
They say they're waiting for hot deals on items like computers and big screen TV's.
Marcus Krueger, waiting in line, said, "We already had dinner with the family so we're not missing that. We're ready to rock, just get some big prizes."
Mitchell was one of the first people in line. He said, "We've been here since 11 am yesterday, waiting for big TVs that are 200 dollars."
Best buy opens at Midnight, as do many other area stores.
Some stores were open all day Thursday.
Old Navy in Milwaukee opened at 8 AM with sales for shoppers.
Store managers say they think all competitors will eventually move up their Black Friday openings.
They're banking on black Friday sales to set pace for the holiday season.
