PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- At least two of three American students arrested during protests in Cairo are back in the U.S., three days after an Egyptian court ordered their release.
A spokesman for Indiana University says 21-year-old Luke Gates arrived in the U.S. on a flight Saturday.
Spokesman Mark Land declined to specify the airport, but says his parents told him they expect their son back home in Indiana soon. Gates attends the university, and his parents have declined to talk with the media.
Gates, 19-year-old Gregory Porter and 19-year-old Derrik Sweeney were arrested last Sunday on the roof of a university building in Cairo. Officials accused them of throwing firebombs at security forces fighting with protesters.
Porter arrived home in Philadelphia earlier Saturday. Sweeney is expected to arrive in St. Louis late Saturday night.
