Explosive device found near Wis. gas station

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, Wis. (AP) -- A device containing explosive powder was found outside a Sheboygan Falls gas station and was dismantled safely.

Police say it was found about 6:30 a.m. Sunday near the entrance of the Q-Mart.

Sheboygan Falls Deputy Chief Steven Ross says officers suspected the package was an explosive device and evacuated the Q-Mart and nearby residents.

The Sheboygan Press reports (http://shebpr.es/rzQrhw) the Milwaukee County Bomb Squad was called in and used its mechanical robot to disassemble the device.

Officials from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in Milwaukee are helping with the investigation.
