THERESA, Wis. (AP) -- One worker is dead and another critically injured after they were overcome by chemical fumes at a Dodge County manufacturing plant.
Sheriff Todd Nehls says a 55-year-old man has died. A 65-year-old man was in critical condition when was taken to a hospital, but the sheriff says that man is breathing and "progressing very well."
Nehls told WISN-TV the 65-year-old man's wife found the two men unconscious about 3:45 p.m. Monday at Vivid Image Inc. in Theresa.
According to the sheriff, the men were mixing two or three compounds when they apparently were overcome by the resulting fumes.
The sheriff says a hazmat team decontaminated 15 to 20 first responders who arrived at the scene.
Names of the two men have not been released. An autopsy is scheduled Tuesday.
