LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- A Holmen man is sentenced to 31 years in prison for a drunken driving crash that killed a 23-year-old Onalaska woman and injured four others.

Twenty-seven-year-old Jesse Hermann pleaded guilty to six felony charges in the June crash that killed Theresa Kroes and injured four of her friends. The women were on their way to a barbecue when Hermann rear-ended their vehicle on Highway 35.

The four women who survived the crash spoke of the physical and emotional scars that still remain from the crash at Hermann's sentencing in La Crosse County Monday. WKBT-TV ( says Hermann's blood alcohol was more than three times the legal limit when he crashed into the women's vehicle. A judge also sentenced Hermann to 40 years of extended supervision.
