Customer accused of robbing Subway twice in 1 week

RACINE, Wis. (AP) -- Employees of a Racine Subway say a man who robbed the restaurant twice in a week looked very familiar.

A criminal complaint charging the 43-year-old man with armed robbery says he walked up to the counter at the Subway Nov. 7. An employee recognized the man as a customer and thought he was going to order cookies. Instead, he pointed a round object from his sweat shirt pocket, demanded money from the register and fled.

Three days later, police say he was back again at the same Subway. This time when he demanded money, an employee refused and he walked away. The Journal Times ( ) says if convicted of charges against him, Lavel Scott of Racine could possibly spend 60 years in prison.
