Pilot in Illinois plane crash was Wis. man

RIVERWOODS, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in northern Illinois say a pilot from Wisconsin was flying the small plane that crashed while transporting a medical patient.

The twin-engine plane crashed between two houses in the Chicago suburb of Riverwoods late Monday, killing pilot William Didier of Cedar Grove, Wis., the patient and the patient's wife.

Authorities say a medic and co-pilot also aboard the plane were injured but are expected to survive.

The plane went down about five miles from the regional airport that was its destination.

Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board are trying to determine what caused the crash.
