RIVERWOODS, Ill. (AP) -- Autopsy results show a patient in a medical transport plane that crashed in suburban Chicago died from a heart attack, not injuries from the accident.
The Cook County medical examiner said Wednesday that 80-year-old John Bialek died from hardening and narrowing of the arteries around the heart. The plane crashed late Monday in Riverwoods, about 25 miles northwest of Chicago. Bialek's 75-year-old wife, Ilomae Bialek, and the pilot, 58-year-old William Didier of Cedar Grove, Wis., also were killed in the crash. Two others survived.
The plane crashed near its destination, Chicago Executive Airport in Wheeling. Federal authorities are investigating.
