UPDATE: Child recovering after getting hit by car outside school
WAUSAU (WAOW) -
WAUSAU (WAOW) -- A child hit by a car outside John Marshall Elementary School in Wausau Thursday afternoon is recovering at home.
The 4th grader was hit around 3:30 p.m. as school was letting out. She was taken to the hospital. The girl's stepfather told Newsline 9 the girl had road rash and received a few stitches, but is now at home and doing well.
The girl lives across the street from the school on Broadway Avenue and was on her way home when she was hit.
Wausau police the driver of the car that hit the girl is a 78-year-old man from Minnesota. They say he may be cited.
