TOWN OF TREMPEALEAU, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities in western Wisconsin say two cars have collided head-on in Trempealeau County, killing a driver in one vehicle and a passenger in the other. Two others were injured.

The sheriff's department says the collision happened Friday afternoon in the Town of Trempealeau.

Authorities say 41-year-old Samuel Townsend of Onalaska was driving one car. He was declared dead at the scene.

There were three people in the other car. Thirty-nine-year-old passenger Timothy Valentine of La Crosse was killed.

The two who were hospitalized were the driver, 45-year-old Michael Price of Holmen, and 22-year-old passenger Stephan Schick of La Crosse. Their conditions weren't immediately available Saturday.
