"It's nice to let others know you appreciate what they've done for you."

WAUSAU (WAOW) -- Some people in Wausau spent the morning remembering those who have served our country a few days before the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

The ceremony has become a tradition at the Wausau VFW. Members of the DC Everest High school choir lent their voices in memory of those who lost their lives. Organizers said as World War II veterans get older, it becomes even more important to thank them for their military service.

"It's nice to be able to let others know that you appreciate what it is that they've done for you," said master of ceremonies Russ Michalski.

Four war veterans who live in the area attended the ceremony. Those military men and others from the community watched videos commemorating those who served. The official Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is coming up on Wednesday.
